Why Mandice?
How much effort did you spend to reinstall an Operating system? How many system down time have you experienced after every major system upgrade? Do you dislike the UI of the major Linux Distribution? The fact is too much time and effort is wasted on such menial matters. It is under such predicament that Mandice is created. The goal of Mandice's creation are to get rid of the bloatedness, provide a neat UI with the shortest set up time. This results in shorter installation and maintenance effort, without losing the eye candy of a nice UI.

Mandice is a lite Linux Distribution?
This is inaccurate. Mandice is a light weight distro but not in terms of functionality. It has the full functionality like Ubuntu, Fedora and Debian. If you are looking for a lightweight, minimal distribution functionality, you might want to take a look at XPUD. Please visit http://www.xpud.org/.

What's different between Mandice and Lubuntu?
Mandice does not intend to reduce functionality in order to be lightweight. It will use the familiar GNOME as the desktop environment (similar to Ubuntu), and introduces LXDE and XFCE components for functionality as well as reduce storage requirements.
The biggest differences between Mandice and Lubuntu will be that Mandice is using Debian as the base Repository, and therefore, there will not be a need to rebase every six month. This will reduce the risk of major system upgrade which causes system breakdown.
For an ardent free software enthusiast, the non-free Ubuntu Logo is very much detested. For a hardware manufacturer, a non-free Logo also implies high royalty.
Mandice 和 Lubuntu 的差異在哪？
雖然兩者看似雷同，但 Mandice 卻不是單純將功能精簡或替換以達到系統輕量的目地。相反的，Mandice 是非常注重使用者經驗的 Linux 發行版，將採多數使用者極為熟悉的 GNOME 做為預設桌面環境（與一般版本之 Ubuntu 相同），然後在以不影響使用者習慣的前提之下，視需求和狀況搭配使用 LXDE 和 XFCE 的程式元件，提升系統效能和減少硬碟使用空間。
Mandice 與 Lubuntu 最大的不同在於更新機制，Mandice 因選用 Debian 為基礎，使用者不用再因為每次的重大系統升級而苦惱，可以永遠的無痛升級，但相對於 Lubuntu，其因為有著 Ubuntu 的原罪，每六個月將會有一次系統升級導致壞掉的風險。
此外，對於某些自由軟體狂熱者來說，非自由的東西是極令人厭惡的，像是：Ubuntu Logo。不只是如此，對於一般電腦硬體生產來說，非自由的 Logo 也意味著高額的版權費。
How to deal with Codec Legal Issues for Multimedia?
In principle, Mandice does not offer non-free codec by default, but it will provide an easy method to install such codec via the internet. Due to the different legal framework across the region, Mandice will not be responsible for installation of such codecs if the user has chosen to install the codec via this channel.
關於多媒體解碼專利的問題？
原則上，Mandice 不會預設內建任何有爭議的解碼演算法程式，但會提供易於使用的介面讓使用者透過網路上安裝。不過，由於各地區有各地區不同的法律規範，在某些地區，使用一些特定的解碼演算法程式可能會觸法，若是使用者自行安裝並使用了這些有爭議的程式，Mandice 專案將不負任何責任。
Can I run Mandice on my Netbook or older computer?
Yes, absolutely. Total storage space requirement for Mandice is approximately 700MB to 1GB, while its RAM requirement is only 128MB. It is therefore very suitable for Netbook and other low spec hardware or older computers.
我可以在我的小筆電或是老電腦上跑 Mandice 嗎？
絕對可以。Mandice 整體硬碟空間使用大小約 700MB ~ 1GB，且記憶體需求只需要 128MB，如此低需求的系統非常能滿足小筆電和低規格的電腦去使用。
If we are Manufacturers, how do we ship our product with Mandice?
Mandice is unlike Ubuntu, SUSE Linux and other comercial Linux distributions, as it doesn't charge the manufacturer for any royalty or license fee. It is similar to FreeDos in terms of licensing fees.
